What this policy covers
Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device. Websites can also store information on your device in other ways, such as local storage. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of these. This policy explains which cookies ProAllocate uses, why, and how you can control them.
How we use cookies
We use two groups of cookies:
- Necessary cookies, which the Platform needs in order to work, to stay secure, or to provide features you ask for. These are always on.
- Optional cookies, which help us understand how the Platform is used and measure our marketing. These are only set if you agree to them, and they are off until you do.
Necessary cookies

| Maintenance access | Remembers that a member of our team has entered the maintenance password, so they can use the site while it is temporarily closed to the public for maintenance. Set only on entering that password. |

| Display preferences | Remembers settings such as reduced motion, and hints you have dismissed. |
| Billing notices | Remembers whether you have seen a notice about your subscription. |
| Offline cache | Stores fonts, icons and other static files so pages load faster. Contains no personal data. |
Optional cookies
Analytics. We use Plausible Analytics to understand how visitors use the Platform: which pages are visited, how people move between them, and how they arrived. Plausible does not use cookies, does not store anything on your device, does not collect personal data and does not track you across websites, so it runs without asking for your consent. Its data is stored in the EU.
When you are signed in, we can also briefly store a reference in your browser that links a search result you click to your search, so we can improve search. This is only stored if you accept analytics cookies.
Marketing cookies help us measure how well our advertising works, for example on LinkedIn. They may be set by the advertising platform concerned, which may use them to show you our advertising on other websites.
We only set optional cookies after you have agreed to them. If you reject them, the Platform works in exactly the same way.

A full, current list of the cookies we use, including each cookie’s name, who sets it, and how long it lasts, is available in the cookie preferences panel. You can open it at any time using “Manage Cookies” at the bottom of every page.
Your choices
When you first visit ProAllocate, we ask whether you accept optional cookies. You can accept all of them, reject all of them, or choose by category. Rejecting is as easy as accepting.
You can change your mind at any time using “Manage Cookies” at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, we stop setting optional cookies from that point.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a rejection of all optional cookies and confirm this in the cookie banner.
We remember your choice for 12 months, then ask you again.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, parts of the Platform, including sign-in, will not work.
Payments
Payments are taken on Stripe’s own checkout pages. Any cookies Stripe sets there are governed by Stripe’s own policies.
Changes to this policy
If we change the cookies we use, we will update this policy and, where the change affects optional cookies, ask for your consent again.
